LEAD LOADED BORON POLYETHYLENE |
Lead Loaded boron polyethylene combines lead &
boron in polyethylene providing an effective
shield against mixed neutron/gamma fields. The
hydrogen in polyethylene will thermalize fast
neutrons. The boron captures thermal neutrons &
suppresses induced gamma rays. The lead provides
shielding against primary gamma rays also. Lead
Loaded boron polyethylene is available in slabs,
bricks, cylinders, rods, and tubes of different
sizes and can be manufactured into custom molds
to create application specific shielding forms.
They are available with varying concentrations
of Lead & Boron.
